Q.
I'm planning on purchasing some of the 8mm Amber Clasps. I think they're neat, but I don't know how to use them.

A.
If you are using wire, run a headpin through the clasp from the open end on the screw, up through the bead portion. This is hollow all the way through. Make a simple loop or wrapped loop on each of the clasp pieces and attach your strands to the loop.

If you are using thread or silk, run the thread through the clasp from the open end on the screw and make a knot in the end to secure it inside the clasp. Begin stringing your necklace. Finish on the other end with a knot that you then work down into the clasp with a beading awl or toothpick.
