What are the temperature settings and length of time for your kiln, for a silver piece with cubic zirconia gems in it?- Carol
1650 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 hours in a kiln is usually safe for most cubic zirconias. Not all cubic zirconias have the same results though, so it is best to proceed with caution. Emerald and tanzanite seem to not do as well at this high of a temperature nor at this length of time; they are better suited to a temperature of 1110 degrees Fahrenheit for ten minutes. Orange and most reds can withstand the higher temperature but the color has been noted to fade.
Note: It is always best to test the stones by putting them through a firing schedule prior to incorporating the stones into your designs.
