I have many large uncalibrated stones. I would like to create my own mounts with Artclay. Will the prongs bend and not be too brittle for setting the stones after firing?

After firing, metal clay is very malleable and not brittle as long as the firing was completed successfully. Silver metal clay is 0.999% silver and termed fine-silver which is much softer than sterling since there is no copper or other metals present.
