Q.
I was doing so great making my necklaces with beads from Fire Mountain. The necklaces were just beautiful. I have no trouble designing them, but I have become so discouraged that I have not made any in the last few months. I became disgusted with the process because of the hard work and yet they seem to fall apart in spite of all I have tried to do. I have watched your instructions etc but cannot seem to win. What on earth am I doing wrong? They sometimes break, but most of the time, it is in the end of the necklace that the break happens. I loved this work. What can I do to make sure they will stay put while someone is wearing them? Thank you.

To help prevent breakage when stringing beads on beading wire, Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire 49-strand is your best bet. It's strong, flexible, kink-resistant and easy to crimp. Choose the largest diameter wire that the holes in your beads will allow. 0.019-inch is a good all-purpose size, 0.024-inch will work well with larger hole beads like lampworked glass beads, and 0.014-inch and 0.012-inch are well suited to beads with smaller holes like faceted gemstones and pearls. Secure the wire ends to your finding or clasp using 2x2mm or 3x2mm crimp tubes. Accu-Guard™ wire protectors give an additional line of protection where your wire meets the clasp.

The key to strong crimped connections is to properly use crimping pliers to secure the crimp beads. Applying a small amount of adhesive to the inside of the crimp is optional but adds additional security.
