What is the best method to attach an S clasp? Standard crimp bead and ring? Or something better? The necklace is 2 strand turquoise and rather heavy. Thank you.- Jana
Crimping a heavy-gauge soldered jumpring to each end of your design is the most secure way to go when using an S-hook clasp. Actually, this is best choice when designing with a clasp that doesn't come with its own soldered ring or one that doesn't have a soldered ring end. The soldered rings will keep the beading wire secure (no opening in the ring for it to slip out of) and the heavy-gauge will offer the S-clasp proper tension as well as hold up to the weight of your design.
