Bib-Style Necklace with Seed Beads, SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS and Gemstone CabochonsD168
Awaking of Spring Tie Necklace
Make a full-size diagram of the tie, or photocopy picture 1, enlarging it to the desired size. Transfer the design to fabric. Glue the cabochons in the marked places. Work the basic row in A (Fig. 1). Sew seed beads as close to the cabochons as possible. When the row is finished go through all the beads, pulling tightly on the thread to make the beads line straight with each other. Bead the cabochon in A and C (Fig. 2). Go through the last bead row for several times, pulling tightly on the thread.
Draw circles in the places where you want to have your rivolis. The circles should be of the same diameter as rivolis are. (14mm rivolis were used in the original design.) Work a basic row in A around each circle (Fig. 1). Bead the bezel in peyote stitch (Fig. 3): work four rows in A, then insert a rivoli and continue working two more rows in D. Go through the last bead row for several times, pulling the thread taut. Sew B seed beads in the marked places (see Fig. 4).
Embroider the necklace. Firstly embroider the lines in H, then add some F and D. Now fill in the free space, randomly sewing E beads. Trim away all the excess fabric as close to the last bead row as possible. Glue a piece of leather to the back side. Let the glue to dry and trim away all the excess leather. Work the basic edge row in A (Fig. 5).
Work seven loops at the top part of the tie, using strings of A beads. Bead two herringbone ropes (Fig. 6) and attach their ends to the connectors. String I beads onto the pins and join them to connectors. String I beads onto the pins and join them to connectors. Attach a lobster clasp to one bead and a chain extender to the other.
