Multi-Strand Necklace with Seed Beads, Agate Gemstone Cabochon and Cultured Freshwater PearlsD169
Glue the cabochon to the fabric for under backing. Let the glue dry. Bead a basic row around the cabochon, using even number of C, (Fig. 1). Run through all the beads for several times, pulling tightly on the thread.
Bead the cabochon in circular peyote stitch, (Fig. 2). The number of the rows depends on the thickness of your cabochon. There is one row in C, two rows in E, one row in C and one more row in D in the original design. Work one row in B around the beaded cabochon (Fig. 1). When the row is finished go through all the beads more than once, pulling the thread taut.
Trim away all the excess fabric as close to the last row as possible. Glue leather to the back side. Let the glue dry and trim the excess leather. Bead the basic edge row in C (Fig. 3). Embroider in C, D along the edge of the top part of the pendant. Work five loops, using 20 C beads for each loop.
Work two leaves in C, E (Fig. 5). Attach the leaves to the bottom part of the pendant according to the photograph; then add several A beads (Fig. 6).
Bead tubular Ndebele rope (Fig. 7). Attach a clasp to the ends of the rope. Slip the rope through the pendant loops.
