Choker-Style Necklace and Earring Set with Seed Beads, Gemstone Cabochons and Swarovski CrystalD16W
Mistress Snow Set
The capital letters above are the bead key identifiers, which are referenced throughout the instructions.
Make a full-size sketch of the necklace, or photocopy Picture 1, enlarging it to the desired size. Transfer the diagram to fabric. Glue the cabochons and rivolis in the marked places (Pic. 2).
Embroidering Sheridanite Cabochons
Sew the basic row in even number of H (Fig. 1). When the row is finished go through all the beads one more time, pulling tightly on the thread. Bead the cabochon in peyote stitch (Fig. 2). The number of the rows depends on the thickness of your cabochon. There are three rows in H and one row in J in the original design. Repeatedly go through the last bead row, pulling tightly on the thread. Embroider shall sheridanite cabochons in A, B, D and J on the right-hand side (Fig. 3).
Embroider the pearl cabochon in the same way as mentioned in Step 2, using I instead of H and L instead of J in the last row.
Sew the basic row in even number of H (Fig. 1). Bead in circular peyote stitch: two rows in H and one row in J (Fig. 2). Go through the last row more than once, pulling tightly on the thread. Embroider the cabochon in M, J and D (Fig. 4), starting from the basic row. Now start from the beads of the first beaded row and embroider the cabochon in J (Fig. 5).
Embroidering the Free Space
Use the photograph as a guide to embroider the free space. First of all, embroider twigs in H and I beads. Then add some N, B and J from both sides of the necklace. Now sew C and E (Fig. 6). Embroider the free space in M, P and K.
Trim away all the excess fabric as close to the last bead row as possible. Glue leather to the back side. Let the glue dry and trim away all the excess leather. Bead the basic edge row in K. Embroider in K along the edge.
Embroider along one side of the central cabochon A, B, D, F, J and Biwa pearls (Fig. 9).
Attach halves of the clasp to the ends of the necklace, running through G beads. Sew a rivoli to a piece of fabric (Pic. 2). Embroider the rivoli (see Step 4). Trim away all the excess fabric. Glue leather to the back side. Bead the basic edge row in K (Fig. 7). Bead the rivoli (see Step 4, Fig. 4 and 5). Attach two halves of the clasp to both ends of the necklace.
Glue small sheridanite cabochons on to pieces of fabric. Embroider the cabochons just as you did for the necklace. Bead one row of M around the cabochon. Trim away all the excess fabric and glue leather to the back side. Then work the basic edge row in K (Fig. 7) and embroider along the cabochon in K (Fig. 8). When the work is finished, attach the cabochons to ear findings.
