I ran and owned two local radio stations in Tucson for 20 years. At the onset of my career I began volunteering at various non-profits. Boys and Girls Clubs asked me to join their Board of Directors as my radio stations reached a lot of people and I could provide them with Public Service Exposure. I am now one of 17 Emeritus Board Members, which is the highest honor one can receive from Boys and Girls Clubs (BGC). I have chaired almost every committee on the Board and served as Board President.

BGC serves over 7,000 at-risk youth in Tucson, AZ, and 4,800 in Monterey County. In Tucson the children pay $5/school year, and $5/summer for unlimited use of the clubs! If they cannot afford it, then they can work at the clubs to earn their membership, no child is ever turned away!

The children not only have a safe place to go, but they learn many life enhancing skills such as the Smart Moves program (learning how to say no to drugs and sex). The clubs offer sports, computer workshops, art and crafts, science, and a wonderful library where they receive free homework help!

I participate in their fundraising activities by donating jewelry to be sold in Live and Silent Auctions. I donate a portion of my proceeds from events I do to benefit BGC. I participate in an event called 'Wine, Women and Shoes', whereby I donate 20% of my proceeds from the event to the clubs and well as providing $2,500 in jewelry for them to auction for their benefit.
