Zoisite Gemstone Properties

Design Possibilities

Luxurious deep green zoisite with its black inclusions is like a beautiful inlaid treasure chest. Inside may be a tiny ruby crystal, but even if there isn't, zoisite's colors and striking patterns are so lovely, you won't care about that ruby. Named after the collector Zois, zoisite was first found in 1805 in Austria's Sau-Alp mountains. This green zoisite with inclusions of hornblende and occasional ruby crystals was found in Tanzania in 1954. Since then it's also been found in Norway, western Australia and the U.S. It's a stone much loved by artists and other creative people who often pair zoisite beads with black onyx for stunning art objects and jewelry.

Metaphysical/Healing Properties

Ever watched artists at work? There's an energy present that practically sets the air to crackling. They're entirely focused. While they create, their lives and their art become one. That's the kind of focused, creative empowerment zoisite can give us. When creativity seems to have curled up and died inside you or other things keep pulling you away from the work you love, wearing zoisite can work like a mantra, gently calling you back to what you really want to be doing.
