Dazzle your friends and loved ones, and draw attention to your storefront, with an easy-to-make, multi-strand necklace that's guaranteed to be the life of the party. The Cranberry Cocktail design looks stunning with either cultured freshwater or crystal pearls. You can also substitute different colors of pearls and crystals to coordinate with the season or wardrobe for which you're designing. This project captures the spirit of the holiday season with maroon Swarovski crystal pearls and alternating rose and black diamond Swarovski crystal bicones.
Using your wire nippers, cut four 24-inch lengths of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire and four 5mm lengths of French wire. Attach two lengths of Accu-Flex® to each loop on one end of the clasp using your crimp tubes, French wire and crimping pliers.
String one small sterling silver disc, one Swarovski crystal pearl and one rose-colored Swarovski crystal bicone onto one of the strands. Continue stringing an alternating pattern of six pearls and five bicones for a total of seven pearls and six bicones. Add a large sterling silver saucer. String one pearl and one bicone. Continue stringing this pattern for a total of seven pearls and six bicones. Add an additional four bicones and string through the sterling silver oval bead. Add four more bicones onto the strand.
Note: All four strands will pass through the oval bead. The strands with rose crystals should have four bicones on either side of the oval bead. The strands with black diamond crystals should have one bicone on either side of the oval bead.
Repeat the pattern of seven pearls and six bicones three more times, alternating the use of large saucers and small discs. Attach to the corresponding loop on the opposite half of the clasp with a crimp tube and length of French wire. If using mini bead stoppers, secure the strand with the stopper before stringing the crimp tube and French wire.
Note: Bead stoppers allow you to adjust the tension of the strands while stringing, which is helpful when passing strands through the large oval bead. When all strands are complete, release the stoppers one at a time, adjust beads so they are snug on the strand and attach to the clasp.
Repeat this pattern for a total of six pearls and five bicones. Add a large sterling silver saucer. Repeat the pearl-bicone pattern again, adding an additional black diamond bicone, and pass through the same sterling silver oval as the first strand in Step 2. String another bicone and repeat the pattern three more times, alternating the sterling silver large saucers and small discs after every sixth pearl. String three more pearls and six more bicones (finish the strand with four bicones) and attach to the corresponding loop on the opposite end of the clasp with a crimp tube and length of French wire.
Choose a strand from the second loop of your clasp and string one small sterling silver disc, one crystal pearl and one rose-colored crystal bicone. Continue stringing the pearls and bicones for a total of five pearls and four bicones. Repeat this pattern two more times, adding four bicones to the last pearl and string through the sterling silver oval bead. String four more bicones and one pearl, and continue the pearl-bicone pattern for a total of ten pearls and nine bicones. Add a large sterling silver saucer.
String another pearl and crystal and repeat for a total of five pearls and four bicones. Add a small sterling silver disc and repeat one more time, finishing the strand with a small saucer. Attach to the corresponding loop on the opposite end of the clasp with a crimp tube and length of French wire.
Repeat Step 3 for the fourth strand.
Now you can celebrate the season with a stunning, new necklace that exudes elegance. The beauty of this design is how the strands naturally twist together in an unstructured drape that adds to its appeal.
