Necklace

Step 1
Using flush-cutters, cut the following:
  • One 17-1/2 inch and one 15-inch length of silver-finished 3x2.5mm cable chain
  • One 1-3/4 inch lengths of silver-plated 5x3.5mm cable chain
  • One 17-inch length of 10x1.5mm brown faux suede cord
Step 2
Make a fold lengthwise along the entire 17 inches of brown cord. Place a thin layer of The Ultimate! adhesive along one side of the inside of the brown cord. This will be used as contact cement for the initial placement of the feathers on the cord.

Separate the peacock feathers. Starting 1/4 inch from the end of the brown cord, place the end of a single peacock feather into the adhesive and gently press down using tweezers or the tip of chain-nose pliers at a perpendicular angle to the leather.

Repeat to attach peacock feathers in a single layer side by side down the length of the leather cord.
Step 3
Once all the feathers are in place, apply another layer of adhesive to the opposite side of the inside of the leather cord. Fold the leather over onto itself covering the feathers in between the two sides. Use bonding clips along the length of the leather to hold the leather together until the adhesive completely dries. Allow adhesive to dry for 24 hours.
Step 4
Pass one end of the folded 17-inch brown suede cord through a cord end. Place a small amount of adhesive on the inside of the cord end (optional). Using chain-nose pliers compress the cord end onto the cord. Repeat to attach a cord end to the opposite end of the cord.
Step 5
After the adhesive is completely dry, use a pair of scissors and trim the ends of the feathers parallel to the leather to a length of 1-1/2 inches.
Step 6
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and bent-nose pliers, open an 8x6mm jumpring. Pass it through the first link on the 17-1/2 inch length of silver-plated 3x2.5mm cable chain and over the leather cord 1 inch from the end of the cord. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach a jumpring to the leather cord 2 inches from the previous jumpring, passing it through the 30th link of the chain before closing the jumpring.

Repeat down the length of the cord (every 2 inches) and the chain (every 30th link) until the last link of the chain is attached to the cord 1-inch from the opposite end.
Step 7
Repeat Step 6 using the 15-inch length of chain starting 2 inches from the start of the leather cord and ending 2 inches from the end of the leather cord.
Step 8
Open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the 15th (center) link on the 17-1/2 inch length chain and an 18x9mm silver-finished "pewter" key charm. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a 13x6mm silver-finished "pewter" key charm to the chain using 4mm jumpring to the fourth link on each of the larger key charm.

Repeat to attach a large key charm to the center and two smaller key charms four links to each side to each of the larger charm on each section of chain.
Step 9
Open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the lobster claw clasp and the loop on the cord end on the first side of the leather cord. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach the first link on a 1-3/4 inch length of 5x2.5mm cable chain to the cord end of the second side of the leather cord.

Repeat to attach a 14x11mm silver-finished lock charm to the last link on the 1-3/4 inch length of 5x2.5mm cable chain.

Earrings

Step 1
Using flush-cutters, cut the following:
  • Two 2-1/4 inch and four 1-inch lengths of silver-finished 3x2.5mm cable chain
  • One 1-1/2 inch length of 10x1.5mm brown faux suede cord
Step 2
Make a fold lengthwise along the entire 1-1/2 inches of brown cord. Place a thin layer of adhesive along one side of the inside of the brown cord. This will be used as contact cement for the initial placement of the feathers on the cord.

Separate the peacock feathers. Starting at the end of the brown cord, place the end of a single peacock feather into the adhesive and gently press down using tweezers or the tip of chain-nose pliers at a perpendicular angle to the leather.

Repeat to attach peacock feathers in a single layer side by side down the length of the leather cord.

Repeat to create a second leather and feather cord.
Step 3
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a simple loop on the straight end of an eyepin 1-1/2 inches from the first loop. Repeat to create a total of two eyepins with loops on each end.
Step 4
Once all the feathers are in place. Apply another layer of adhesive to the opposite side of the inside of the leather cord. Place an eyepin in the crease of the leather. Fold the leather over onto itself covering the feathers in between the two sides. Use bonding clips along the length of the leather to hold the leather together until the adhesive completely dries. Allow adhesive to dry for 24 hours. Repeat on second leather and feather cord.
Step 5
After the adhesive is completely dry, use a pair of scissors and trim the ends of the feathers in a slight V-shape with the longest feathers in the center. Repeat on second leather and feather cord.
Step 6
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and bent-nose pliers, open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the first loop on the eyepin, the first link on one 2-1/4 inch length and one 1-inch length of silver-finished 3x2.5mm cable chain. Close the Loop.

Repeat to attach last link on the 2-1/4 inch length 3x2.5mm cable chain and one 1-inch length of 3x2.5mm cable chain to the opposite loop on the eyepin in the leather. This will loop the 2-1/4 inch length of chain across the front of the feathers.
Step 7
Open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the last link on both of the 1-inch lengths of chain and the loop on an earwire. Close the jumpring.

Open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the previous 4mm jumpring and the loop on a lock charm. Close the jumpring.

Open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the 13th (center) link on the 2-1/4 inch length chain and an 18x9mm silver-finished "pewter" key charm. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a 13x6mm silver-finished "pewter" key charm to the chain using 4mm jumpring to the fifth link on each of the larger key charm.

Repeat Steps 6 and 7 to create a second earring.
