Step 1
Using flush-cutters, cut the following:
  • Ten 4-inch lengths and one 5-inch length of 20-gauge copper Zebra Wire™
  • Four 5-inch lengths of 26-gauge copper Wrapit® wire
  • One 20-inch length of antiqued copper-plated 4mm lantern chain

Focal Piece

Step 2
Using hole-punch pliers, punch one 2.38mm hole 1/4 inch from one point on the copper 33x33mm triangle. Repeat to punch two 2.38mm holes along the right edge of the copper 33x33mm triangle blank 1/4 inch apart and two 2.38mm holes along the left edge of the copper 33x33mm triangle blank 1/4 inch apart.

Punch two holes on top edge of the copper 33x33mm triangle blank 1/4 inch from the edge and 3/8 inch apart starting 1/2 inch from the right point on the triangle.

Position a copper 18x18mm triangle blank on top of the copper 33x33mm triangle blank facing in the opposite direction with the tip of the smaller triangle overhanging the top by 3/8 inch. Use a permanent marker to mark the hole placement from the top edge holes on the larger triangle onto the smaller triangle.

Punch the two marked holes on the copper 18x18mm triangle blank.

Punch one 2.38mm hole 1/4 inch from the opposite point on the copper 18x18mm triangle.
Step 3
Use a texturing hammer to texture the front and back of both triangle blanks.
Step 4
Place a copper brad through the first punched hole on the top of the 18x18mm triangle blank and the top of the 33x33mm triangle blank and use a ball peen hammer and a steel block to finish the rivet. Repeat to attach the second rivet through the opposite punched holes.
Step 5
Using an artist's brush/paintbrush, apply a thin layer of patina colored Gilders Paste® over the patterned copper on the front of both triangles. Repeat to apply a thin layer of patina over the length of the 20-inch length of lantern chain. Allow paste to dry for 12 - 24 hours.

Note: Thin out with paint thinner or mineral spirits to transform the highly concentrated paste to a preferred consistency. Use in a well-ventilated area.
Step 6
Place a small amount of Loctite® 454 Gel adhesive on the back of one 2.8mm flat back crystal. Using tweezers, place the crystal between the two rivets on the 18x18mm triangle. Repeat to attach five flat back crystals on the 33x33mm triangle along the bottom edge of the 18x18mm triangle. Let the adhesive set.
Step 7
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open an 8mm jumpring. Pass it through the first hole on the bottom of the 33x33mm triangle blank. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach an 8mm jumpring to each of the five holes along the bottom edges of the 33x33mm triangle blank.
Step 8
Using a pair of round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers and flush-cutters and a 4-inch length wire create the loop for a wrapped loop leaving the excess wire. Attach the loop to the first jumpring on the bottom of the 33x33mm triangle blank. Finish the wrapped loop using round nose pliers. String a Swarovski 4mm bicone jet crystal onto the wire. Finish the end of the wire with a wrapped loop.

Repeat to attach a Swarovski 4mm bicone jet crystal beading blank to the opposite loop on the Swarovski 4mm bicone jet crystal beading blank using one 4-inch length of copper wire and one Swarovski 6mm bicone jet crystal.

Repeat to attach Swarovski 8mm bicone jet crystal bead drop to the opposite loop on the Swarovski 6mm bicone jet crystal beading blank using one ballpin and one Swarovski 8mm bicone jet crystal.

Repeat Step 8 to attach one Swarovski 4mm bicone jet crystal beading blank, one Swarovski 6mm bicone jet crystal beading blank and one Swarovski 8mm bicone jet crystal bead drop to each of the five jumprings attached to the bottom of the 33x33mm triangle blank.
Step 9
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, flat-nose pliers and a 5-inch length of copper wire, form a 3/8 inch loop passing it through the hole at the top of the 18x18mm triangle blank. Continue to wrap the wire three to four times passing it through the hole on the triangle loop with each wrap.

Necklace

Step 10
Using chain-nose pliers, gently compress the end of the 20-inch length of lantern chain so it fits into the first end of the clasp. Place Loctite adhesive into the clasp and insert the chain into the end. String the focal piece onto the chain. Repeat to attach the chain to the opposite side of the clasp.
Step 11
Using one 5-inch length of 26-gauge wire. Form a loop on the end of the wire. Pass in through the lantern chain 9 inches from one end of the clasp. String onto the wire six Swarovski 4mm bicone jet crystals. Pass the wire back through the first crystal to create a loop and back through the lantern chain to secure the loop of crystals in place on the chain. Repeat to attach a loop of crystals on the opposite side of the focal piece 9 inches from the opposite end of the chain. Repeat to attach a loop of crystals 6 inches from each end of the chain.
Step 12
Using scissors, cut a 20-inch length of black Nymo® thread. Attach a beading needle to the thread.
Step 13
String onto the thread seven 3mm round copper beads. Loop the beads around the lantern chain 8-1/2 inches from the end of the chain. Pass the thread back through all of the beads in the loop. Tie two overhand knots to secure the thread in place. Apply a small amount of adhesive on the knot for added security. Repeat to attach a seven 3mm copper bead loop at 5-1/2 inches and 7-1/2 inches from the end of the chain. Repeat on the opposite side of the chain.

Repeat Steps 12 and 13 to attach a seven Swarovski 4mm bicone jet crystal loop at 5 inches, 6 inches, 7 inches and 8 inches from the end of each end of the chain.

Earrings

Step 1
Punch one 2.38mm hole 1/8 inch from one point on the copper 18x18mm triangle. Repeat to punch one 2.38mm hole on each point on the copper 18x18mm triangle blank and one hole in the center of the two holes on the bottom of the triangle. Repeat to punch four holes in the second 18x18mm triangle blank.
Step 2
Use a texturing hammer to texture the front and back of both triangle blanks.
Step 3
Using a paintbrush, apply a thin layer of patina colored Gilders Paste over the patterned copper on both sides of the two triangle blanks. Allow paste to dry for 12 - 24 hours.

Note: Thin out with paint thinner or mineral spirits to transform the highly concentrated paste to a preferred consistency. Use in a well-ventilated area.
Step 4
Place a small amount of Loctite adhesive on the back of one 2.8mm flat back crystal. Using tweezers, place the crystal 1/8 inch above the center punched hole on the bottom of the 18x18mm triangle blank. Repeat to attach three flat back crystals on the 18x18mm triangle blank along the bottom edge blank above the punched holes. Let the adhesive set. Repeat on the second triangle blank.
Step 5
Using flush-cutters, cut the ball off of a ball pin. Using a pair of round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers and flush-cutters form a loop on the straight end of the wire. String a Swarovski 4mm bicone jet crystal onto the wire. Finish the end of the wire with a simple loop. Repeat to create four Swarovski 4mm bicone jet crystal beading links.

Repeat to create the following:
  • Six 3mm round copper beading links using one 3mm round copper bead and one ballpin with the ball cut off
  • Six Swarovski 6mm bicone jet crystal bead drops using one Swarovski 6mm bicone jet crystal and one ballpin
Step 6
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers open the loop on a Swarovski 4mm bicone jet crystal beading link. Pass it through the hole on an earclip. Close the loop.

Open an 8mm jumpring. Pass it through the opposite loop on a Swarovski 4mm bicone jet crystal beading link and the top hole on an 18x18mm triangle blank. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach one 8mm jumpring, one 3mm round copper beading link and one Swarovski 6mm bicone jet crystal bead drop to the first and third holes on the bottom of the triangle blank.

Repeat to attach one 8mm jumpring, one Swarovski 4mm bicone jet crystal beading link and one Swarovski 6mm bicone jet crystal bead drop to the center hole on the bottom of the triangle blank.
Step 7
Repeat Step 6 to create the second earring.
