Bracelet with Glass Rhinestone, Epoxy and Resin Beads and Waxed Cotton Cord

Bracelet with Glass Rhinestone, Epoxy and Resin Beads and Waxed Cotton Cord
Step 1
Using scissors cut two 30-inch lengths of black and two 30-inch lengths of white waxed cotton cord.
Step 2
Match the four 30-inch lengths of cord together, placing the two white cords in the center and the two black cords on either side. Place an overhand knot on the end of the cords to hold them together. Tip: Pin or tape the strands to your work station to make it easier to form your knots evenly.

Do not cut the short ends of the strands of cord. The two black outside cords will be used as the knotting strands and the two white strands will be used as the base strands for the first part of the bracelet.
Step 3
Make a square knot using the two outside strands (black cords) over the two inside strands (white cords). The basic pattern is:
  • Strand 1 over the base
  • Strand 2 over strand 1
  • Strand 2 under the base
  • Strand 2 through the loop
  • Strand 2 over base
  • Strand 1 over strand 2
  • Strand 1 under the base
  • Strand 1 through the loop
Tip: You must alternate starting with strand 1 then strand 2 to get a flat pattern. If you start consistently with the same strand the pattern will twist.

Continue making alternating square knots for 2-1/4 inches.
Step 4
String one 12mm white and clear AB pavé rhinestone bead onto the two white base strands. Bring the two black knotting strands around the outside of the bead, and then make one square knot around the white base strands.

String one 14mm white and clear AB pavé rhinestone bead onto the two white base strands. Bring the two black knotting strands around the outside of the bead, and then make three alternating square knots around the base strands.
Step 5
Switch the position of the black and white cords, so the black cords are in the center and become the base strands and the white cords become the knotting strands.
Step 6
String one 14mm black and white pavé rhinestone bead onto the two black base strands. Bring the two white knotting strands around the outside of the bead, and then make one square knot around the black base strands.

String one 12mm black and white pavé rhinestone bead onto the two black base strands. Bring the two white knotting strands around the outside of the bead, and then continue making alternating square knots for 2-1/4 inches with the white cords as the knotting strands.
Step 7
Pass a cord end around the four strands of cord after the last knot. Place a small amount of glue on the inside of the cord end (optional). Using chain-nose pliers, compress the cord end onto the cord. Remove the knot from the first end of the bracelet. Repeat to attach a cord end to the opposite end of the strands.
Step 8
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 5mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the lobster claw clasp and the loop on the first cord end. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a jumpring to the opposite cord end on the bracelet.
