Necklace

Step 1
Using flush-cutters, cut the following:
  • Two 5-inch lengths of gold-finished 13x9mm twisted cable chain
  • Twelve 6-inch lengths and two 22-inch lengths of gold-plated brass 32-gauge wire
Using chain-nose pliers, segment the following lengths of lantern chain:
  • Two 7-1/2 inch lengths, two 8-inch lengths, two 9-inch lengths, one 16-inch length, one 17-inch length and one 18-inch length of gold-finished 4mm lantern chain
Tip: Cutting lantern chain with flush-cutters will crush the links and distort the shape of the chain. To easily segment lantern chain links, use needle-nose pliers to open the prongs then gently squeeze the prongs back in for a clean end.
Step 2
Using scissors, cut the following:
  • Two 1-3/4 x 1-inch pieces of jeweler's bronze 28-gauge sheet
Step 3
Using a ball peen hammer, flatten the bronze sheets. Use a file to remove burrs and roughness from the edge of the sheets.
Step 4
Drill or punch 1.25mm hole 3/4 x 1/2 inch from the right upper corner of the bronze sheet. Repeat to punch a 1.25mm hole 3/4 x 1/2 inch from the left upper corner of the bronze sheet. This will position the holes in the center of the top of the bronze box.
Step 5
Cut a 3/8 x 3/8 inch square piece out of each corner of the sheet of the sheet using a saw.
Step 6
Using the edge of the steel block and flat-nose pliers, start the fold of the first tab of the bronze sheet. Repeat to create a crease on all four sides of the sheet to create a straight line to complete the folds on. Fold all four tabs down at a 90 degree angle to create a 5-sided box. Use a sanding pad to remove any roughness from the box.
Step 7
Repeat to create the second bronze 5-sided box.
Step 8
Pass a 4-inch headpin from the inside of the first hole on the box to the outside. String onto the straight end of the headpin, one Swarovski 6mm bicone jet crystal. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a wrapped loop on the straight end of the headpin. Repeat to attach a headpin and one Swarovski 6mm bicone jet crystal to the second hole on the box. Repeat to attach wrapped bead drops to the second box.
Step 9
Fold one 6-inch length of wire in half. String the 9mm edge of one Swarovski 17x9mm keystone jet crystal onto the wire. Using a pair of round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers and flush-cutters, make the first loop of the briolette wrapped loop. Pass the loop through the 4mm edge of a second Swarovski 17x9mm keystone jet crystal. Finish the briolette wrapped loop wrapping the excess wire between the two crystals to hold the crystals in place.

Repeat to attach the 9mm edge of the second Swarovski 17x9mm keystone jet crystal to the last link on the 7-1/2 inch length of lantern chain.

Repeat to attach two Swarovski 17x9mm keystone jet crystals to two 7-1/2 inch lengths, two 8-inch lengths and two 9-inch lengths of lantern chain.
Step 10
Pass the end of the 22-inch length of wire through the first link on the first 8-inch length of lantern chain. Wrap the wire around the first link four to five times to secure the wire. Pass the wire through the first link on the first 9-inch length of chain. Wrap the wire so the second chain is secured next to the first. Continue to attach the first link of the 7-1/2 inch length chain, the 18-inch length chain, the 17-inch length chain and the 16-inch length chain in a straight row. Wrap the excess wire around the last chain for four to five wraps to secure the chains together.

Repeat on the opposite side in a mirror image of the first side of the necklace (the last link of the 16-inch length chain, the 17-inch length chain, the 18-inch length, the first link of the second 7-1/2 inch length chain, the second 9-inch length chain and the second 8-inch length chain.
Step 11
Mix Devcon Jeweler's 5-minute Epoxy according to manufacturer's instructions. Place a layer of adhesive on inside of the first bronze 5-sided box and the first links on the first set of six chains. Press the ends of the chains into the box. Repeat to attach the opposite set of chains into the second bronze 5-sided box. Let the adhesive set for 5 minutes. Make sure to use proper ventilation when using this product.
Step 12
Place a thin layer of epoxy on the front side of the first bronze 5-sided box. Place a small amount of epoxy onto the back of the first Swarovski 5mm rivoli triangle jet rhinestone. Press the triangle rhinestone onto the left edge of the box. Continue to attach fifteen triangle rhinestones (three per row placing the triangles in opposite directions so they fit close together--2-1/2 hexagons) along the front of the box. Repeat to attach fifteen triangle rhinestones on the second box.
Step 13
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 5.5mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the first wrapped drop on the first bronze 5-sided box and the last link on a 5-inch length of twisted cable chain. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a 5.5mm jumpring to the loop on the second wrapped drop on the first bronze 5-sided box and the last link on a 5-inch length of twisted cable chain.

Open a 5.5mm jumpring. Pass it though the first loop on the slide portion of the clasp and the first link on the 5-inch length of twisted cable chain. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a 5.5mm jumpring to the second loop on the clasp and the first link on the 5-inch length of twisted cable chain.

Repeat to attach the second 5-inch length of chain to the second bronze 5-sided box and the box portion of the clasp.

Earrings

Step 1
Using flush-cutters, cut the following:
  • Two 3-1/2 inch lengths and two 4-inch lengths of gold-finished 4mm lantern chain
  • Four 6-inch lengths and two 18-inch lengths of gold-plated brass 32-gauge wire
Step 2
Fold one 6-inch length of wire in half. String the 7mm edge of a Swarovski 13x7mm keystone jet crystal onto the wire. Using a pair of round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers and flush-cutters, make the first loop of a briolette wrapped loop. Pass the loop through the 3mm edge of a second Swarovski 13x7mm keystone jet crystal. Finish the briolette wrapped loop wrapping the excess wire between the two crystals to hold the crystals in place.

Repeat to attach the 7mm edge of the second Swarovski 13x7mm keystone jet crystal to the last link on the 3-1/2 inch length of lantern chain.

Repeat to attach two Swarovski 17x9mm keystone jet crystals to two 3-1/2 inch lengths and two 4-inch lengths of lantern chain.
Step 3
Pass the end of the 18-inch length of wire through first link on the first 4-inch length of lantern chain. Wrap the wire around the first link four to five times to secure the wire. Pass the wire through the first link on the first 3-1/2 inch length of chain. Wrap the wire so the second chain is secured next to the first.
Step 4
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 9mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on an earwire and through the first link on the 4-inch length and 3-1/2 inch length of chain. Close the jumpring.
Step 5
Mix Devcon Jeweler's 5-minute Epoxy according to manufacturer's instructions. Place a thin layer of epoxy on the front side of the first links over the wire holding them together. Place a small amount of epoxy onto the back of the first Swarovski 5mm rivoli triangle jet rhinestone. Press the triangle rhinestone onto the left edge of the first chain. Continue to attach six triangle rhinestones in a hexagon pattern along the front of the two chains. Let the adhesive set for 5 minutes. Make sure to use proper ventilation when using this product.
Step 6
Repeat Steps 3 - 5 to create the second earring. Adhere the rhinestones to the opposite side of the chains on the second earring to create a mirror image pair.
