    Focal

    Step 1
Slice off large amounts of both red and brown Apoxie® Sculpt molding compound. (The approximate ratio should be 2/3 brown to 1/3 red.) Knead the Apoxie colors together until they are a uniform brownish-maroon color. Slice off an amount of the grey Apoxie hardener equal to the colored Apoxie already kneaded. Knead the hardener and the colored Apoxie together until thoroughly mixed.

Note: The entire size of Apoxie should be approximately equal to the size of a tangerine.
    Step 2
Cut two flat pieces from a silicone rubber glove and place Apoxie between them. Using an acrylic roller flatten the Apoxie to approximately 2-3mm thick. After Apoxie has been flattened to the desired thickness, peel the pieces of glove away and set Apoxie on a flat surface.
    Step 3
Place a sheet of gold craft foil, coated side down, on the front side of the Apoxie. Using your fingertip rub the craft foil covering the Apoxie.
    Step 4
Remove the craft foil in a swift motion. Flip the Apoxie over and repeat Step 3 to add craft foil to the back side.
    Step 5
Place a silicone texture stamp over the Apoxie. Gently and evenly press the texture stamp into the Apoxie.
    Step 6
Remove the texture stamp and place the stamped back side of the Apoxie onto a piece of the silicone rubber glove. Repeat Step 5 to stamp the front side of the Apoxie.

Note: When stamping, be careful not to flatten the back side of the Apoxie.
    Step 7
Using a hobby knife, trim the Apoxie into desired cloud style focal shape.

Note: Keep excess foiled Apoxie and roll into a ball for use later in the project.
    Step 8
Press a small coffee straw into the corners at the top of the focal to create holes for connecting to the necklace. Push straw through several times to create larger 5-7mm holes.
    Step 9
Using the coffee straw, create seven evenly spaced holes (approx. 2mm in size) following the curve along the bottom of the focal.
    Step 10
Use an artist's brush to apply Inca gold Gilders Paste® around the edge and any exposed areas of the Apoxie focal. Let dry completely.
    Step 11
Use a needle file and fine grit sand paper to smooth the edges and inside the holes. Let Apoxie focal cure completely.
    Step 12
Ball up a large piece of polymer clay and press onto a flat surface. Press the front side of the focal into the polymer clay so the back side is facing up and is level.

Apply Signature Series Magic-Glos® to the entire back side of focal making sure to apply to the edges of each hole as well.

Note: Use care to avoid the actual hole interiors. If any Magic-Gloss gets into the holes, use a toothpick to clean out the holes or you may need to drill out filled holes after the Magic-Glos cures.

Place the focal, back side facing up under direct sunlight or a UV light until the Magic-Gloss is cured.
    Step 13
Roll a small amount of the excess Apoxie into a pea sized ball. Place the ball of Apoxie onto the front of the focal and gently press one Czech glass 27mm round button into the ball of Apoxie.

Repeat to adhere a variety of Czech glass buttons and beads in a random pattern onto the focal.

Note: Create a layered effect by adding Apoxie-applied components to the areas between the previously added Czech glass buttons and beads.
    Step 14
Use an artist brush to apply matte Mod Podge® to seal any areas not covered by buttons and beads on the front of the focal. Let dry completely.
