Bracelet with Leatherette Bola Cord, Antiqued Copper-Finished "Pewter" Bead and Wire Wrap

Bracelet with Leatherette Bola Cord, Antiqued Copper-Finished "Pewter" Bead and Wire Wrap
Step 1
Using flush-cutters cut the following:
  • Two 4-inch lengths of 26-gauge bright copper Wrapit® wire
  • One 7-1/2 inch length of 3.5-4mm tan bola cord
  • Two 4-inch lengths of 1mm natural leather cord
Step 2
String one antiqued copper 8x2mm beaded rondelle bead, one antiqued copper-finished 10x10mm cylinder bead and one antiqued copper 8x2mm beaded rondelle bead onto the 7-1/2 inch bola cord, positioning the beads on the center of the cord.
Step 3
Attach one 4-inch length of 1mm leather cord to the bola cord using the following whipping knot technique:

Make a 3/4 inch loop on the end of the 4-inch length of 1mm leather cord so it is resting on the bola cord starting at 1-1/2 inches from the first end. Start to wrap the 1mm cord around the bola cord to hold the loop of the cord in place. Continue to wrap the cord for 6 neat wraps around the bola cord over the loop. Pass the end of the 1mm leather cord through the loop before pulling the opposite end of the cord tight to hold it in place. Pull both ends of the cord tight. Trim the ends of the cord with flush-cutters.

Repeat to attach the second 4-inch length of 1mm leather cord to the bola cord on the opposite end of the bola cord.
Step 4
Place one end of one 4-inch length of Wrapit wire between the folded laces of the bola cord next to the first antiqued copper 8x2mm beaded rondelle bead. Wrap it loosely around the bola cord (approximately 1/4 inch wraps) down one side of the bola cord until the wire matches up with the other end of the bola cord. Place the end of the wire between folded laces on the end of the bola.

Repeat to attach the second 4-inch length of wire to the bola cord on the opposite end of the bola cord.
Step 5
Place a small amount of adhesive on the inside of the cord end (optional). Pass one end of the bola cord with the wire end into the cord end. Using chain-nose pliers compress the cord end onto the bola cord. Repeat to attach a cord end to the opposite end of the bola cord.
Step 6
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 6mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on a lobster claw clasp and the loop on the cord end on the first end of the bola cord. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a 6mm jumpring to the cord end on the opposite end of the bola cord.
