Bracelet with Macramé Nylon Cord and SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS

Bracelet with Macramé Nylon Cord and SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS
Step 1
Using flush-cutters, cut a 10-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. String onto the end of the wire one crimp tube. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite®) inside the crimp (optional). Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim the excess wire from the short end.
Step 2
String onto the beading wire:
  • Seven Swarovski light Siam 4mm round beads
  • Four sets of one Swarovski light Siam 5mm round bead and five Swarovski light Siam 4mm round beads
  • One Swarovski light Siam 5mm round bead
  • Seven Swarovski light Siam 4mm round bead
Step 3
String onto the beading wire one crimp tube. Make sure there is no slack along the length of the strand. Place a small amount of adhesive inside the crimp. Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim the excess wire from the short end.
Step 4
Using a pair of scissors, cut twelve 28-inch lengths of metallic silver nylon cord and six 28-inch lengths of metallic gold nylon cord.
Step 5
Match six strands of 28-inch lengths of metallic silver nylon cord. Place an overhand knot on the end of the cords to hold together.

Tip: Pin or tape the strands to your work station to make it easier to form your knots evenly.

Do not cut the short ends of the strands of cord.
Step 6
Make a square knot using the two outside strands over the four inside strands.

The basic pattern is:
  • Strand 1 over the base
  • Strand 2 over strand 1
  • Strand 2 under the base
  • Strand 2 through the loop
  • Strand 2 over base
  • Strand 1 over strand 2
  • Strand 1 under the base
  • Strand 1 through the loop
Note: You must alternate starting with strand 1 then strand 2 to get a flat pattern. If you start consistently with the same strand, the pattern will twist.

Continue making alternating square knots for 3/4 inches. Set to the side.

Repeat using the second set of six strands of 28-inch lengths of metallic silver nylon cords making alternating square knots for 3/4 inch and a set of six strands of 28-inch lengths of metallic gold nylon cords making alternating square knots for 3/4 inches.
Step 7
Set the braided cords up next to each other on the work area using T-pins with one silver braided nylon cord, one gold braided cord, the Swarovski bead strand and one silver braided cord.
Step 8
Separate out three strands from the first set of six silver nylon cords. Using the first three cords, make a square knot using the two outside strands over the one inside strand.

The basic pattern is:
  • Strand 1 over the base
  • Strand 2 over strand 1
  • Strand 2 under the base
  • Strand 2 through the loop
  • Strand 1 over the base
  • Strand 2 over strand 1
  • Strand 2 under the base
  • Strand 2 through the loop
Note: You must start consistently with the same strand for the pattern to twist.

Continue making identical square knots for 1/2 inch. Repeat using the second set of three strands of silver nylon cords making identical square knots for 1/2 inch.
Step 9
Bring the six silver nylon cords back together and make two alternating square knots. Then separate out the cords to sets of three cords and identical square knots for 1/2 inch.

Continue to braid the silver nylon cords in this open loop pattern for nine sets of six cords with two alternating square knots and then three cords with identical square knots for 1/2 inch.

Continue making alternating square knots for 3/4 inches after the last set of 1/2 inch identical square knots.

Repeat to on the second set of six silver nylon cords on the opposite side of the bracelet.
Step 10
Separate out the three strands from the set of six gold nylon cords. Continue making identical square knots for 1 inch. Repeat using the second set of three strands of gold nylon cords making identical square knots for 1 inch.
Step 11
Pass the left hand set of 3-cord gold braids from the front to back of the first loop of silver nylon cords on the left side back through the front of the second loop of silver nylon cords. Repeat to pass the right hand set of 3-cord gold braids from the front to back of the first loop of silver nylon cords on the right side back through the front of the second loop of silver nylon cords.

Bring the six gold cords back together and make four alternating square knots. Then separate out the cords to sets of three cords and identical square knots for 1 inch

Continue this pattern until there are five sets of four alternating square knots and then three cords with identical square knots for 1 inch with the silver cords weaved into the design.

Continue making alternating square knots for 3/4 inches after the last set of 1 inch identical square knots.
Step 12
Pull the strand of Swarovski beads up through the first loop in the gold braids with the Swarovski light Siam 6mm round bead in front of the center of the gold loop.
Step 13
Cut a 24-inch length of white Nymo® thread. Pass the thread onto a straight needle. Position the silver strands from the first and set braided cords behind the Swarovski light Siam 6mm round bead on the back of the bracelet. Pass the thread through the left braided cord to the right braided cord directly under the 6mm bead. Pass the thread through the braided cord two to three times. Tie the end of the thread around the tail of the thread in a surgeons knot to secure the cords in place. Place a small amount of adhesive on the knot for added security. Repeat under each of the 6mm beads down the length of the bracelet.
Step 14
Place a small amount of glue on the inside of both sides of the ribbon end. Cut the cord 1/4 inch past the last knot. Pass a ribbon end around the strands of cord after the last knots on the three braided strands and the crimp bead on the Swarovski bead strand. Using chain-nose pliers, compress the ribbon end onto the cord. Remove the knot from the first end of the bracelet. Repeat to attach a ribbon end to the strands.
Step 15
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 6mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the lobster clasp and the loop on the first ribbon end. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a jumpring to the opposite ribbon end on the bracelet.
