Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Acrylic Beads, Shiny Copper Beads and Wirework

Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Acrylic Beads, Shiny Copper Beads and Wirework
Step 1
Using flush-cutters cut the following:
  • One 22-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire
  • Six 12-inch lengths of Wrapit® 20-gauge bright copper wire
  • Wrapit 24-gauge bright copper wire:
    • Twelve 4-inch lengths
    • Six 10-inch lengths

Pendant

Step 2
Beginning in the center of the wire, bend one 12-inch length of 20-gauge wire around the outside of one acrylic opaque black 10mm round bead.
Step 3
Using chain-nose pliers, bent-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, take one 4-inch length of 24-gauge wire and create four wraps approximately 10mm from the center of the 20-gauge wire and wrapping towards the ends of the 20-gauge wire. Using flush-cutters trim short end if necessary.

Tips:
  • Keep the wraps close together for a nice and neat look
  • Make sure end of the wire lies against the wraps to prevent snagging
Step 4
String onto the long end of the 24-gauge wire one acrylic opaque black 10mm round bead. Repeat Step 2 to create four wraps around the opposite end of the 20-gauge wire.
Step 5
Bring the two ends of the 20-gauge wire together approximately 10mm above the top of the 10mm round bead. Using chain-nose pliers, bent-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, take one 4-inch length of 24-gauge wire and create four wraps approximately 10mm from the top of the bead and wrapping towards the bead. Do not trim the ends of the wire.
Step 6
Using round-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, beginning just above the wraps, bend ends of the 20-gauge wire back down towards the bead doubling the wire and forming a loop. Continue wrapping the 10-inch length of 24-gauge wire to create four more wraps securing the loop around the doubled over wire forming a bail and creating a pendant. Using flush-cutters trim short end if necessary.
Step 7
Using round-nose pliers and chain-nose pliers continue to wrap the ends of the 20-gauge wire loosely around the 10mm space between the wraps from Step 5 and the bead a total of two times. Using round-nose pliers form a half-loop on the very end of each wire. Arrange wire so that the ends of the wire lay on the front of the pendant.
Step 8
Repeat Steps 2 - 7 to create a total of four single acrylic bead pendants.
Step 9
Repeat Steps 2 - 4 to begin a double acrylic bead pendant. Repeat Steps 2 - 4 a second time to add one black acrylic 8mm round bead directly above the black acrylic 10mm round. Repeat Steps 5 - 7 to finish the acrylic double bead pendant.

Repeat to create a total of two acrylic double bead pendants.

Necklace

Step 10
String the following onto the beading wire:
  • One copper 2x2mm crimp bead
  • One Accu-Guard™ wire protector
  • The loop on the bar portion of one copper 18mm toggle clasp
Pass the beading wire back through the crimp bead. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the Accu-Guard leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite®) inside the crimp (optional).

Using crimping pliers crimp the crimp bead. Using flush-cutters trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire.
Step 11
String onto the beading wire one shiny copper 4x1mm beaded rondelle and one acrylic opaque black 6mm round bead. Repeat this stringing sequence to create a total of three sets.
