Bead tips are used to conceal knots at the ends of beaded strands and to connect the strands to the clasp. The bottom clamp-on has a thread hole in the hinge--the upper portion once again forms a spherical bead with an attachment loop.
Imitation nickel-plated bead tips are a great alternative for non-precious metal silver-colored components. They have a grey-colored cast and are nickel free, which makes them great when designing for people with nickel allergies.
