About the author: Irina Miech has been involved in the beading and jewelry world since 1989, when she was traveling in Morocco and a marketplace vendor showed her how to make her first wire loop. She fell in love with the beautiful jewelry and the beads she found overseas and knew there was nothing like them in the United States at that time. She started a small import business, supplying stores and galleries throughout the country. There, she sells everything a beader needs to create beautiful jewelry. She is also the author of three how-to books on metal clay jewelry. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, where she studied international relations and the Russian language. She lives with her husband and sons in southeastern Wisconsin.
