About the author: Sandra Salamony is an artist, art director, and graphic designer who has been making her own jewelry since childhood. Her encaustic artwork has been shown in galleries across the United States. She has designed crafts and home decorating projects for many books and magazines, and has appeared on television to showcase craft-making projects. She was also the editor and creative director for the 2004 through 2007 editions of Sky and Telescope's Beautiful Universe, an international newsstand publication featuring a curated collection of awe-inspiring astronomical images. She recently moved to the lovely shores of Lake Michigan, where she shares studio space with her formerly urbanite cat who now embraces the northern Michigan hunting lifestyle.
