Meet the Designer-Artist

Tammy Honaman has been making jewelry for over 15 years, working in a variety of media, including metal clay, wire, sheet metal, polymer clay, glass and beads. She is a certified Senior Art Clay and PMC Instructor, and teaches a wide range of jewelry-making techniques at national and international trade shows as well as on national television programs.

Tammy currently contracts with Fire Mountain Gems and Beads as a top-billed expert jewelry designer--creating and authoring educational content for print, video and the Fire Mountain Gems and Beads website. She hosts and is major contributor to the team answering jewelry-making questions in Ask the Experts on the Fire Mountain Gems and Beads website. Tammy also creates and writes jewelry-making projects for books and international and national magazines.

You can view Tammy's jewelry-making video segments on the Fire Mountain Gems and Beads website as well as in ''Secrets to Art Clay Success,'' a DVD published by Fire Mountain Gems and Beads, devoted to projects using Art Clay. You can also catch her on the public television series ''Beads, Baubles and Jewels,'' and the DIY program ''Jewelry Making.''

Tammy is the founding editor of Step by Step Beads and Step by Step Wire.

Meet Tammy at "Create Your Style" in Tucson - A SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS Event February 1-4, 2011 in Tucson, Arizona, where she'll be instructing a "Crystal Connections" workshop and Make-and-Take sessions. Tammy will also be teaching a three-day class at the 2011 Bead and Button Show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin June 5-7, covering the fundamentals in metal clay.
