Where do you live?
Muskogee, Oklahoma

Describe your artistic style.
Anything that sparkles.

What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Not any one thing inspires me. I'm inspired by colors and shapes.

What materials do you most enjoy working with?
Pearls and crystals, I love anything that has sparkle.

What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
The Bride Has Arrived

What inspired this design?
My daughter, I think she is beautiful, and I wanted her to have a piece of jewelry as beautiful as her.

How did it come together? For example, did you plan it out or did it define itself once you began working?
I had this piece in my mind, and it just came together. I started with the necklace and before I knew it, the earrings came along and then the bracelet.

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
About four years ago, I wanted customized jewelry that no one else had, so I decided to make my own. I bought some stuff and taught myself and I've expanded my pieces.

Who introduced you to beading?
Myself.

How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®?
Looking for beads in a beading book and ran across an advertisement. I ordered a catalog and there's been no stopping me.

What other hobbies do you have?
I love to read, cross-stitch, and I love to work with clay.

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
I try to expand my talents, and nothing can make you feel good about yourself like a new piece of jewelry.

If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I usually just make them for friends, but I have sold through word of mouth.

Do you participate in any charity fundraisers?
I have donated beads to a bead store that lets children make their own jewelry.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Have a blast! The only thing that is stopping you is the lack of imagination. You can do anything that you can dream of!
