Meet the Designer-Artist

Where do you live?
Grants Pass, Oregon

What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Inspirations come from everywhere! I have a hard time cleaning my studio because as I pick up things I see another possibility.

I am the creative lady behind Tinker's Creations. What is Tinker's Creations?

The dictionary defines tinker as a wondering mender of household utensils, a gypsy; and that is just how my life has been. However, throughout all of my life travels, experiences, and life lessons; art has been a major focus. My art experience began in school while growing up in the Chicago area, and has continued on through the University of Hawaii, and now in rural Southern Oregon.

I have been using my creative imagination to create unique pieces of jewelry. I combine gemstones, glass, polymer clay in a contemporary use of macramé, kumihimo braiding, and other mixed medias.

I like to think I have a productive over imagination!

What medium do you work with mostly?
In the past I have favored micro-macramé and kumihimo. However, since I have been lucky enough to work at Fire Mountain Gems®, I have been introduced to many different materials and styles. I love them all.

Why did you become enchanted with this style of jewelry-making?
Art has always been a major focus in my life, and jewelry design has become part of my art.

Where and How do you sell your jewelry?
I enjoy the selling at Artisan Fairs. The personal interaction is important feedback on my pieces. It is also fun. I found the web took away from my creative time.
