How many 2.5mm size beads (14Kt gold round) would I need to make a string 36-inches long?

There's a quick-and-easy equation for that: 1-inch = 25.4 millimeters.

Multiply the length of the necklace by 25.4, then divide the number you get by the size of the beads in millimeters. This will give you a good estimate of how many beads will be needed for that specific necklace length.

For example, a 36-inch necklace made with 2.5 millimeter beads would be calculated as follows:

36 x 25.4 = 914.4, then 914.4 / 2.5 = 365.76, and round up to 366
So a 36-inch necklace made with 2.5mm beads would require approximately 366 beads.
