Q.
Can you advise on how to clean rose-scented beads. Some are wood beads with a scent soaked in. Others are beads made from rose petals. Thanks for your help!

A.
Gently wipe the beads with a dry soft cloth without any water, cleaners or chemicals. To help maintain the scent of your beads, store them in a sealed container or box. Scented rose petal beads and wooden beads need to be kept dry when stored, but will absorb some body oils when worn. The warmth and oils of your skin can actually stimulate the aroma of the beads. As for wooden beads, the oil from your skin should keep them from drying out and cracking. If they appear to be drying out, you can wipe them lightly with a damp cloth, let them dry and then wipe them lightly with a cloth and mineral or olive oil. Unfortunately, this cleaning process does not protect the aroma. You can purchase scented rose oil and apply it to your wooden beads, but rose petal beads may not stand up to the addition of oil.
