Q.
Hi - I've heard that to prevent costume jewelry from changing color, you can apply some clear nail polish on it. Is this true?

A.
Use an artist's fixative or Mona Lisa™ Metal Leaf ™ top coat to seal and protect beads and components. Clear nail polish can yellow over time. Use a paintbrush to apply a thin coat of sealant to all areas then let dry. Mona Lisa Metal Leaf sealant is dry in approximately 15 - 30 minutes and if desired, a second coat can be added. A full drying time of 24 hours is recommended.

Mona Lisa top coat also works well as a coating for polymer clay beads, hand painted beads and gold leaf designs.
