Name: Lin Pyatt
I learned of these charities in different ways: I heard about the Oaxaca Street Children's Grassroots through a charity link. I have Fibromyalgia, so I heard about their programs through a newsletter. I heard about Equality Now through the yearly screening event, and I have always known about the Humane Society! I love them all, and I would gladly do more! I think the work they do is very necessary, yet unappreciated, like most charities.
|I am greatly inspired by Day-of-the-Dead designs ( I have been incorporating a lot of related imagery lately: skulls, prayer, colorful, floral) and I'll be doing a charity fundraiser at my booth at Ofrenda for the Oaxaca project. I also love animals, and with the animal designs I create, I can give some of the proceeds to needy shelters. I love the spirit of Equality Now, fighting for women's rights around the globe, and the global Serenity screening charity event gives me plenty of inspiration! I really wanted to design something for the Fibromyalgia research fund, and everyone loves Swarovski crystals, so it seemed like a natural choice!|
