Favorite Charity: "Friendship Bracelets given free of charge by JAW"
Make a child happy, any girl you might see, any place, any time. "Friendship Bracelets given free of charge by JAW"
I began this project by looking into my own heart and my over supply of beads and things. I make a few dozen beaded "friendship" bracelets. Put them in a special bag into my purse, when I see a little girl or sometimes more than one together, I give them each a "friendship" bracelet. It works wonders for the girls that one sees crying in a store, on the street or wherever. I serve at a meal kitchen and the younger girls that come for a free meal get a bracelet. They get the joy of getting one and I get the joy of seeing their face of being given something just for the joy of it. I make them out of the stretch cord so they fit any size girl.
This is my favorite way of sharing without having to go through a special "charity" as I get to enjoy the happiness shared on the spot.
This is connected to my jewelry making as a way to share the gift of giving with only a smile and thanks in return. How often are we told "this is a free item" but with the added words, "you have to buy something to get the so called free item." Truly free to me, means just that--freely given. Many times I have gotten a big hug in return, something that cannot be bought, has no price tag, just joy in one’s heart.
