Favorite Charity: The Women of St. Monica's Episcopal Church, Naples FL
I am the president of this group of 70+ women, who raise money to give away to agencies of hope. Although we are a small philanthropic group, we donate thousands of dollars each year.
A year ago, one of our members made a short presentation about Episcopal rosaries, how they are different from Catholic rosaries and asked if anyone would be interested in learning how to make them. We found a local bead store to teach us and the first rosaries we made were in beautiful camouflage colors for the military family members in our parish. Then, we began making them to sell to other members of our group. We now make over a thousand dollars a month selling rosaries parish-wide and at local events. All of the money we make from rosary sales is donated to local and globally-based agencies---Hope for Haiti, Camp Able, Naples Senior Friendship Center, etc.
