Favorite Charity: The Panda Foundation
My other passion (next to making jewelry of course!) is tennis. The Panda Foundation uses the USTA's 10 and Under Tennis format to teach tennis to disadvantaged children at no cost to them or their families. Smaller courts, racquets and slower bouncing foam balls help children learn quickly and have fun doing it! We also bring in guest speakers to talk about the importance of staying healthy, good sportsmanship and working hard in school!
I love the kids, the volunteers and especially Destiny the Panda, our mascot. Watching the kids learn something that they would probably never have the chance to try is so rewarding.
We do fundraisers throughout the year where I will donate a portion of sales to the Foundation and I have designed a polymer clay panda tennis necklace that can be purchased on The Panda Foundation website.
