Triple-Strand Bracelet with Organza Ribbon and Swarovski Crystal Bicone Beads

Here's a versatile design that can be easily adjusted to fit a variety of moods. Just change the colors of the organza ribbon and Swarovski crystal beads to suit the style you're looking for.
STEP 1
Cut two 12-inch pieces of each color of ribbon. Trim one end of each length of ribbon straight across and the other at an angle.
STEP 2
Partially close a ribbon crimp with flat-nose pliers.
STEP 3
Stack a pink and a rose ribbon, with the straight edges together, then insert the pair into the open ribbon crimp. Finish closing the ribbon crimp tightly so the jaws bite into the ribbon, all the way across the edge.
STEP 4
Repeat Steps 2 - 3 with another ribbon crimp and the other pair of ribbons.

Creating the wrapped loop

STEP 5

Cut two 2-1/2 inch lengths of gold-filled wire and turn a small wrapped loop.

  1. Using chain-nose pliers, bend the last 1-inch of the wire at a right angle.
  2. Using round-nose pliers, grip the wire at the bend and pull the wire around one of the barrels.
  3. Rotate the plies to horizontal, then continue pulling the wire around the jaw until the tail crosses the long wire at a right angle.
  4. Using round-nose pliers, hold the wire, across the loop. Using the chain-nose pliers, grip the tail and wrap around the long wire, at the base of the loop, for the desired number of wraps. One wrap is sufficient for use inside a cone. If making multiple wraps, keep them tight, straight, and close together.
  5. Trim the remaining wire tail with the flat side of side-cutting pliers.
  6. Using the tips of the chain-nose pliers, press the cut end in against the straight wire.
Repeat so you have a wrapped loop on both wires.

Stringing the beads

STEP 6
Cut three pieces of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire, each 2 inches longer than your wrist measurement.
STEP 7
String a crimp tube on one end of one wire, then pass the end through one of the wrapped loops then back through the crimp. Flatten the crimp tightly with chain-nose pliers.
STEP 8
Repeat to attach all three wires to the same wrapped loop.
STEP 9
On one wire at a time, alternately string a rose and a medium vitrail crystal until the length of beads is 2 inches shorter than your wrist measurement.
STEP 10
String a crimp. Then pass the wire tail through the second wrapped loop, back through the crimp and through the last crystal or two. Tighten the wire to leave a small loop and crimp tightly with chain-nose pliers.
STEP 11
Repeat for the other strands, but as you prepare to crimp the other two wires, attach them so the three strands twist around each other.
STEP 12
Cut off any excess Accu-Flex beading wire with side-cutting pliers.

Putting it all together

STEP 13
Pass one of the gold wires through a cone from the wide end so the beads rest up in the cone.
STEP 14
Pull the wire firmly into the cone so the crimps are hidden and the crystals fit snugly against the cone's opening. Bend the wire at a right angle where it exits the top of the cone.
STEP 15
Trim the wire to 3/8 inch and make a loop with chain-nose pliers.
STEP 16
Open the loop sideways, pulling or pushing the end out of the flat plane of the loop without changing its shape, and attach the open loop to the eyelet on a ribbon crimp.
STEP 17
Use chain-nose pliers to bring the end of the loop back into the plane so it is tightly closed.
STEP 18
Repeat Steps 13 - 17 with the other cone and ribbon crimp.
STEP 19
Wear the bracelet by tying the pairs of ribbons in a bow. If desired, shorten the ribbon ends.
