- Jumpring, gold-plated, 4mm round, 20 gauge
- Clasp, gold-plated brass, hook-and-eye, 25x10mm single flat wire
- Cord end, gold-plated brass, 6.5x4.5mm

- Adhesive, Loctite 409 gel

Using the scissors, cut two 22-inch lengths and four 14-inch lengths of 0.5mm black cord.
Fold one of the 22-inch lengths of cord in half. Place the loop through one of the holes on the shell inlay station. Pass the ends of the cord through the loop and pull the cord tight, forming a lark's head knot, securing the station in place.
Take two lengths of 14-inch cord and, together with the doubled cord from Step 2, make an overhand knot using all four pieces of cord next to the station, leaving a 1-1/2 inch tail of the 12-inch cord next to the station.
Using the four lengths of cord remaining, make overhand knots every inch along the cording, with the last knot four inches from the station.
Pass the ends of the cord through a cord end. Measure the cords to nine inches, trim the ends so they are flush with the cord end. Place a small amount of glue on the inside of the cord end (optional). Using chain-nose pliers, compress the cord end onto the cords.
Repeat Steps 2 - 5 to attach the second half of the necklace to the other hole on the station.
Using two pairs of chain-nose pliers, open a 4mm jumpring. Pass the open ring through a loop on one end of the clasp and the loop on one of the cord ends. Close the jumpring.
Repeat to attach the other half of the clasp.
Cut 30 pieces of 0.5mm black cord, varying between 4 and 5-1/2 inches in length. Cut 30 pieces of 1mm black cord, varying between 4 - 5-1/2 inches in length.
Using overhand knots, tie each piece of cord in random order, placing them between the knots along the necklace.
String white and natural mother-of-pearl freeform frangia and black lip shell heishi in a random pattern onto the ends of each of the cord tassels. Tie an overhand knot under the shell to hold it in place on the cord. Leave some of the cord tassels empty.
