Triple-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Lapis Lazuli Gemstone Beads and 14Kt Gold-Filled Chain and Beads

Necklace

STEP 1
Place one 4mm lapis bead onto an eyepin. Finish the end with a simple loop to create a 4mm lapis beading link. Repeat to create a total of seven links.

Repeat to create seven 3mm lapis beading links using eyepins and 3mm lapis beads.

Repeat to create eighteen 4mm gold beading links using eyepins and 4mm gold beads.

Repeat to create four 3mm gold corrugated beading links using eyepins and 3mm gold corrugated beads.
STEP 2
Attach the lapis cabochon to the cabochon setting using the jewel bond adhesive.

First Strand

STEP 3
Using side-cutting pliers, cut two 9-inch lengths of gold-filled 2.25mm flat figure 8 chain.
STEP 4
Using two pairs of chain-nose pliers, open a jumpring. Pass the open ring through the first loop on one end of the clasp and the last link on one end of one 9-inch length of gold-filled chain. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach the second piece of chain to the other end of the clasp.
STEP 5
Open a jumpring and pass the open ring through the last link on both chains. Close the jumpring
STEP 6
Open another jumpring and pass it through the previous jumpring and the loop on the cabochon setting. Close the jumpring.

Second Strand

STEP 7
Using side-cutting pliers, cut the following lengths of gold-filled 2.25mm flat figure 8 chain (start and end the length with a large loop):
  • Ten 1/2 inch lengths
  • Two 3/4 inch lengths
  • Two 2-inch lengths
STEP 8
Open the loop on one end of one 3mm lapis beading link. Pass the open loop through the last link on one end of a 2-inch length of chain. Close the loop.

Continue connecting the following elements together:
  • 3/4 inch length of chain
  • 4mm gold beading link
  • 1/2 inch length of chain
  • 4mm gold beading link
  • 1/2 inch length of chain
  • 3mm lapis beading link
  • 1/2 inch length of chain
  • 4mm gold beading link
  • 1/2 inch length of chain
  • 4mm gold beading link
  • 1/2 inch length of chain
  • 3mm lapis beading link
  • 4mm gold beading link
  • 3mm gold corrugated beading link
  • 4mm gold beading link
STEP 9
Connect one 3mm lapis beading link to the end.

Repeat Step 8 backwards, to create the second half of the strand in a mirror image of the first half.

Third Strand

STEP 10
Using side-cutting pliers, cut two 3-1/2 inch lengths and two 2-inch lengths of gold-filled 2.25mm flat figure 8 chain.
STEP 11
Repeat Step 8, connecting the following elements together:
  • 3-1/2 inch length of chain
  • 4mm lapis beading link
  • 4mm gold beading link
  • 3mm gold corrugated beading link
  • 4mm gold beading link
  • 4mm lapis beading link
  • 2-inch length of chain
  • 4mm lapis beading link
  • 4mm gold beading link
STEP 12
Connect one 4mm lapis beading link to the end.

Repeat Step 11 backwards, to create the second half of the strand in a mirror image of the first half.
STEP 13
Open a jumpring and pass the open ring through the last link on each length of chain from the second and third strand and the second loop on the first half of the clasp. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach the other end of both strands to the second half of the clasp.

Earrings

STEP 14
Using the jewel bond adhesive, attach a sodalite cabochon to the cabochon setting.
STEP 15
String onto an eyepin, one 3mm lapis bead. Finish the end with a simple loop using round-nose pliers. Repeat to create two 3mm lapis beading links.
STEP 16
Repeat Step 2 using a 4mm lapis bead and an eyepin, to create two 4mm lapis beading links.
STEP 17
Using chain-nose pliers, open one loop of one 3mm lapis beading link. Pass the open loop through the loop on a fishhook earwire. Close the loop.

Connect the loop on the other end of the 3mm lapis beading link to the loop on a 4mm lapis beading link. Close the loop.
STEP 18
Open the other loop on the 4mm beading link and pass it through the loop on cabochon setting. Close the loop.

Repeat Steps 4 - 5 to make the second earring.
