Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Imitation Sea Glass Embellishments and Wire Wrap

Necklace

STEP 1
Use the Coiling Gizmo to coil 40-feet of 20 gauge copper wire using the 1.8mm wire crank.
STEP 2
Using flush-cutters, cut thirty-five 8mm lengths of coiled wire.
STEP 3
Wrap a piece of coiled wire around a sea glass slab approximately 3/8 inch from the top of the slab. Cut the wire using flush-cutters.
STEP 4
Cut a 10-inch length of copper wire. String the 10-inch length of copper wire through the coiled wire from Step 3 and center it. Twist the 10-inch length of copper wire to hold the coiled wire in a continuous loop. Place the continuous loop on the sea glass slab. Separate the two tails of wire. Using chain-nose pliers and round-nose pliers, bend one of the tails of wire in a lightning bolt shape along the back of the sea glass slab. Form a spiral loop on the end of the wire. Bend the straight portion of the wire forming it around the bottom of the sea glass slab and position the flat spiral against the front of the sea glass slab. Repeat to the second tail of wire to hold the sea glass slab in place.

Repeat Step 4 to create seven sea glass slab with copper wire components.
STEP 5
Using one pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 5mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the lobster claw portion of the clasp. Close the jumpring.
STEP 6
Using the flush-cutters, cut a 19-inch length of brick red Accu-Flex professional-quality beading wire. String onto the wire one crimp tube, a copper Accu-Guard™ and the jumpring on the clasp. Pass the wire back through the crimp tube, leaving one end of the wire approximately 1-inch long. Pull the crimp tight against the Accu-Guard. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite) inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim the excess wire from the short end.
STEP 7
String onto the beading wire one 5x2mm beaded rondelle bead and one 8mm length of coiled copper wire.

Repeat fourteen times for a total of fifteen sets.
STEP 8
String onto the beading wire the following components using one 5x2mm beaded rondelle bead in between each coil:
  • One sea glass slab with copper wire component (string the wire through the back portion of the copper coil)
  • One 8mm length of coiled copper wire
Repeat six times for a total of seven sets, graduating the sea glass slabs with the largest in the center.
STEP 9
String onto the beading wire one 5x2mm beaded rondelle bead and one 8mm length of coiled copper wire.

Repeat thirteen times for a total of fourteen sets.
STEP 10
String on one crimp tube, a copper Accu-Guard and a 5x4.5mm jumpring. Pass the wire back through the crimp tube, pulling the wire tight against the Accu-Guard. Make sure there is no slack along the length of the necklace. Place a small amount of gel adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim excess wire from the end.

Earrings

STEP 1
Use the Coiling Gizmo to coil 6 feet of 20 gauge copper wire using the 1.8mm wire crank.
STEP 2
Wrap a piece of coiled wire around a sea glass slab approximately 3/8 inch from the top of the slab. Cut the wire using flush-cutters.
STEP 3
Cut a 10-inch length of copper wire. String the 10-inch length of copper wire through the coiled wire from Step 2 and center it. Bend the straight portion of the wire forming the spiral it around the bottom of the sea glass slab and position the flat spiral against the front of the sea glass slab.
STEP 4
Bend the second tail of wire in lightning bolt shape along the back of the sea glass slab going toward the top. Create a wrapped loop on the wire at the top of the glass slab. Form a spiral loop on the end of the wire. Bend the straight portion of the wire forming the flat spiral around the top of the sea glass slab and position the flat spiral against the front of the sea glass slab under the coiled wire.

Repeat Steps 2 - 4 to create a second sea glass slab with copper wire drop.
STEP 5
Using one pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open the loop on an earwire. Pass it through the wrapped loop on the top of a sea glass slab. Close the loop. Repeat to attach an earwire to the second sea glass slab.
