Earrings with Lazer Lace™ Drops, Friendly Plastic® and Silver-Finished Brass Chain

STEP 1
Using flush-cutters, cut twenty-six 3-1/2 inch lengths of silver-finished 1mm snake chain.
STEP 2
Using the sharp end of a pair of tweezers or a permanent marker, trace the outline of four gold-finished 28x19mm butterfly drops on the fuchsia Friendly Plastic (do not include the antennae or head area of the butterfly). Using scissors cut four butterfly pieces out of the fuchsia Friendly Plastic.
STEP 3
Lay a sheet of Teflon® on a flat heat source such as a candle warmer or an electric griddle and turn to a medium-low heat setting. Lay a butterfly piece of Friendly Plastic (fuchsia side up) on the Teflon. Use a metal pick or awl to maneuver the butterfly and plastic so you don't burn your fingers.
STEP 4
As the Friendly Plastic begins to soften lay a gold-finished 28x19mm butterfly drop on the plastic. Use a metal awl to lightly tap the metal butterfly into the plastic so that the plastic oozes slightly through the holes of the filigree butterfly.

Tip: Never leave Friendly Plastic unattended on heat source. When melting Friendly Plastic, avoid temperatures that are set too high as it can cause scorching and undesirable color changes.
STEP 5
Once the plastic has pushed up through the inside design of the butterfly, remove the Teflon sheet from the heat source and lay on a flat surface such as a countertop. Once the plastic has re-hardened, remove the Teflon sheet.
STEP 6
Use a craft knife to trim any excess friendly plastic from the edges of the butterfly.

Repeat to create four fuchsia butterfly drops.
STEP 7
Use E-6000® Jewelry and Craft Adhesive according to manufacturer’s instructions. Place a layer of adhesive on the inside bottom flat pad of the ribbon crimp end. Press the top of the first 3-1/2 inch length of silver-finished 1mm snake chain into the adhesive. Repeat to attach thirteen lengths of chain side by side on the crimp end. Place a thin layer of adhesive on the inside top flat pad of the ribbon crimp end. Using chain-nose pliers, close the ribbon crimp end over the chains to hold them in place. Let the adhesive set for 24 to 72 hours for maximum strength. Make sure to use proper ventilation when using this product.

Repeat to create another chain component.
STEP 8
Using flush-cutters cut the bottom of the thirteen chains in a V-shape. Repeat on the second chain component.
STEP 9
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the first ribbon crimp end and a second 4mm jumpring. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach two 4mm jumprings to the second ribbon crimp end.
STEP 10
Using chain-nose pliers, gently pull forward the metal post inside the head of the first fuchsia butterfly drop. Place a small amount of adhesive on the post. Pass a 4mm light green Swarovski pearl onto the post. Gently push the metal post with the pearl back into place under the metal loop of the head of the butterfly.

Repeat to attach a 4mm light green Swarovski 4mm pearl to each of the four fuchsia butterfly drops.
STEP 11
Place a layer of adhesive on the outside of the pad of the first ribbon crimp end and on the back (black) portion of the first butterfly drop (position the crimp end with the center loop behind the head on the butterfly. Press crimp end into the adhesive on the butterfly. Repeat to attach a second fuchsia butterfly drop to the opposite side of the ribbon crimp end. Make sure to line the butterflies up back to back. Let the adhesive set for 24 to 72 hours for maximum strength.

Repeat to attach two butterfly drops to the ribbon crimp end on the second chain component.
STEP 12
Open a 7.5mm triangle jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the head of the butterfly on the front side of the butterfly assembly, the second jumpring on the ribbon crimp end in the center of the butterfly assembly and pass the opposite side of the jumpring through the loop on the head of the butterfly on the backside of the butterfly assembly. Close the jumpring.

Open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on an earwire and the top of the 7.5mm triangle jumpring. Close the jumpring.

Repeat Step 12 to create the second earring.
