Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Cat's Eye Glass Cabochons, Brass Bezel Settings and Antiqued Brass-Finished Steel Chain

Focal Pieces

STEP 1
Place one 20mm round blue cat's eye cabochon into one antiqued brass 22mm round bezel setting. Using a bezel roller, gently roll the edge on one side of the bezel down against cabochon. Place the bezel roller against the opposite side of the bezel. Continue to push the edge of bezel onto the cabochon all the way around the bezel, working from one side to the opposite side until the bezel is evenly pressed down onto the cabochon.

Repeat to create the following:
  • Two 20mm blue cat's eye cabochons set in antiqued silver-plated 22mm settings
  • Two 12mm blue cat's eye cabochons set in antiqued brass 14mm settings
  • Two 12mm blue cat’s eye cabochons set in antiqued silver-plated 14mm settings
  • Two 10mm blue cat's eye cabochons set in antiqued brass 12mm settings
  • Two 10mm blue cat's eye cabochons set in antiqued silver-plated 12mm settings

Necklace

STEP 2
Using flush-cutters, cut twenty 1-link, fourteen 2-link, two 3-link, six 4-link, five 5-link, six 6-link and two 7-link lengths of antiqued brass-finished 5x3mm patterned cable chain.
STEP 3
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open one 5mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the 20mm blue cat's eye cabochon antiqued brass 22mm setting. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach one 5mm jumpring to each of the seven bezel mountings.
STEP 4
Open a brass 10mm twisted jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the lobster claw clasp and two silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings. Close the jumpring. Continue to attach one brass 10mm twisted jumpring and two silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings for a total of fourteen sets.
STEP 5
Open a brass 10mm twisted jumpring. Pass it through the previous silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings, one 10mm blue cat’s eye silver-plated bezel setting and two silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings. Close the jumpring.

Open a brass 10mm twisted jumpring. Pass it through the previous silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings, one 12mm blue cat's eye brass bezel setting and two silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings. Close the jumpring.

Open a brass 10mm twisted jumpring. Pass it through the previous silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings and two silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings. Close the jumpring.
STEP 6
Open a brass 10mm twisted jumpring. Pass it through the previous silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings, the first link on five 2-link lengths of chain, one 20mm blue cat's eye silver-plated bezel setting, one 1-link length of chain and two silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings. Close the jumpring.

Open a brass 10mm twisted jumpring. Pass it through the previous silver-plated 6mm twisted jumpring, the first link on nine 1-link length of chain, one 2-link length of chain, one 3-link length of chain and two silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings. Close the jumpring.

Open a brass 10mm twisted jumpring. Pass it through the previous silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings, the first link on one 4-link length of chain, one 5-link length of chain (attach a snowflake charm to the last link on this chain), three 5-link lengths of chain, one 7-link length of chain (attach a snowflake charm to the last link on this chain), one 5-link length of chain, two 4-link lengths of chain and two silver-plated 6mm twisted jumpring. Close the jumpring.
STEP 7
Open a brass 10mm twisted jumpring. Pass it through the previous silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings, the first link on one 1-link length of chain, one 2-link length of chain, one 20mm blue cat's eye brass bezel setting, one 2-link length of chain, one 1-link length of chain and two silver-plated 6mm twisted jumprings. Close the jumpring.
STEP 8
Repeat Steps 6 and 5, then Step 4, backwards, to create the second half of the strand in a mirror image of the first half of the strand. End the strand with a brass 10mm twisted jumpring that will act as the catch for the lobster claw clasp.

Earrings

STEP 1
Using flush-cutters, cut two 1-link, two 3-link, eight 5-link and six 6-link lengths of antiqued brass-finished 5x3mm patterned cable chain.
STEP 2
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open the first link on a 5-link length of chain. Pass it through the first curly loop midway down the left side of the first antiqued brass fancy heart drop. Close the link. Open the last link on the 5-link length of chain. Pass a sterling silver snowflake charm on it. Close the link.

Repeat to attach one 5-link length of chain to the next loop down and the larger swirl under the previous chain.
STEP 3
Open a 5mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on the bottom left of the heart drop and the first link on one 5-link length of chain. Close the jumpring. Open the last link on the 5-link length of chain and the loop on one 12mm blue cat's eye antiqued silver-plated bezel setting. Close the link.
STEP 4
Open the first link on a 5-link length of chain. Pass it through the bottom of the heart drop. Close the link.

Repeat to attach one 5-link length of chain to the loop bottom right of the heart drop, then the next curly loop up the right from the previous chain.
STEP 5
Open a 5mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop midway up the right side of the heart drop and the first link on one 1-link length of chain. Close the jumpring. Open a 5mm jumpring. Pass it through the bottom of the 1-link length of chain and the loop on one 10mm blue cat's eye brass bezel setting. Close the link.
STEP 6
Open a 5mm jumpring. Pass it through the large loop on the right side of the heart above the previous chain and the first link on one 5-link length of chain. Close the jumpring.
STEP 7
Open the loop on an earwire. Pass it through the loop on the top of the heart drop. Close the loop.
STEP 8
Repeat Steps 3 - 8 in a mirror image to create the second earring.
