STEP 2
Using flush-cutters, cut the following:
  • Nine 1/2 inch lengths of 5.2mm coiled wire
  • Fifteen 1/2 inch lengths of 1.5mm coiled wire
  • Eighteen 4-inch lengths of brass 22-gauge brass Zebra Wire
  • Fourteen 2-inch lengths of 22-gauge brass Zebra Wire
STEP 3
Form a wrapped loop on one end of one 4-inch length of wire. String on the wire one 8mm round yellow calcite bead, one 1/2 inch length of 5.2mm coiled wire and one 8mm round yellow calcite bead. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire to create an 8mm round yellow calcite beading link.

Form a simple loop on the end of one 4-inch length of 22-gauge wire. Open the loop. Pass it though the first loop on the 8mm round yellow calcite beading link. Close the loop. String onto the wire, four 4mm round grey feldspar beads, one 1/2 inch lengths of 1.5mm coiled wire, three 4mm round grey feldspar beads, one 1/2 inch lengths of 1.5mm coiled wire, three 4mm round grey feldspar beads, one 1/2 inch length of 1.5mm coiled wire and 4mm round grey feldspar beads. Form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire.

Wrap the beaded wire around the 8mm round yellow calcite beading link in a loose spiral for two full wraps. Open the loop on the beaded wire and attach it to the opposite loop on the 8mm round yellow calcite beading link. Close the loop.

Repeat to create a total of five spiraled beading links using 8mm round yellow calcite beads and 8mm round grey feldspar in a random pattern and the beading wire with the 1/2 inch lengths of 1.5mm coiled wire incorporated as above.

Repeat to create a total of four spiraled beading links using 8mm round yellow calcite beads and 8mm round grey feldspar in a random pattern with the beading wire with the twenty-two 4mm round grey feldspar beads.
STEP 4
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a wrapped loop on the straight end of a 4-inch length of 22-gauge wire. String one 8mm round yellow calcite bead. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a wrapped loop on the straight end of the wire. Repeat to create a total of twelve 8mm round yellow calcite wrapped beading links. Repeat to create a total of three 8mm round grey feldspar wrapped beading links.
STEP 5
Heat the hot-fix applicator for at least 2 minutes.
STEP 6
Position seven Swarovski marbled light grey 4.6mm ceramic rhinestones bunched in the center of the lid of the compass. Place the hot-fix applicator over the tip of the first rhinestone and hold in place for approximately 10 seconds to melt the glue. Repeat to heat fix the remaining 4.6mm rhinestones. Allow the rhinestones to completely cool and check adherence to metal.

Continue to attach twenty Swarovski marbled light grey 4mm ceramic rhinestones around the larger rhinestones. Attach Swarovski marbled light grey 2.9mm ceramic rhinestones around the 4mm rhinestones. Finally, attach thirty-two Swarovski marbled light grey 2.5mm ceramic rhinestones and forty-four Swarovski marbled yellow 2.5mm ceramic rhinestones in a swirled sunburst pattern filling the remaining space on the top of the compass lid.
STEP 7
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open one 5.5mm jumpring. Pass it though the loop on the lobster claw clasp and the first loop on one spiraled beading link. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a second 5.5mm jumpring next to the first four double jumprings.
STEP 8
Continue to attach the following components using one 5.5mm jumpring in between each component:
  • Three sets of one 8mm round yellow calcite beading link and one spiraled beading link
  • Three sets of one 8mm round yellow calcite beading link and one 8mm round grey feldspar beading link
  • Five sets of one 8mm round yellow calcite beading link and one spiraled beading link
  • One 8mm round yellow calcite beading link
STEP 9
Open one 5.5mm jumpring. Pass it through the opposite loop on the last 8mm round yellow calcite beading link and the loop on the top of the compass. Repeat to attach a second 5.5mm jumpring next to the first four double jumprings.
