Bib-Style Necklace and Earring Set with MoonScape™ Glass Pearl Beads, Kato Polyclay™ Components and Silver-Plated Brass Bead Caps and Jumprings

Clay Pieces

STEP 1
Condition a 2-ounce block of green and ultra blue Kato Polyclay in your polyclay roller machine.
STEP 2
Mix equal parts of the green and ultra blue clay until uniformly blended.
STEP 3
Insert blended clay into the clay extruder. Place a 7mm round extruder die into the bottom cap of the extruder so it sits flush. Place the tube adapter (suitable in size to the shaped die so the walls of the tube work for your design) into the bottom cap so the tip of the adapter extends through the shaped die and out past the outside end of the cap. Place the bottom cap onto the barrel and twist the T-handle until there is a 2-inch length of tube-shaped clay.

Use the Super Slicer to trim the tube around the adaptor. Use the clean blade to trim the end of the tube, and then continue to cut ten 3mm long tubes creating 7x3mm clay links. Repeat to create two additional 7x3mm links for the earrings. Set on ceramic tile to bake.
STEP 4
Using a 1/2 inch ball of clay, roll into a tube shape with your fingers, then place on the working surface and use a snake roller pressing with even pressure to create an approximately 4mm round snake. Use a clean sharp blade to cut the clay piece to 2 inches in length.

Bring the ends of the clay together to create a 3/4 inch oblong link, using a small amount of Kato Polyclay clear medium liquid to soften the ends as you work them together. This will also help to weld the ends together as they bake.

Repeat to create eleven 3/4 inch clay links. Repeat to create two additional links (slightly smaller) for the earrings.
STEP 5
Bake for 30 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the links and beads from the oven and allow them to cool. Set aside clay earring components for later.
