Place the two plum threads into each of the top vertical sets of the slots and two lilac threads into each of the remaining sets of slots and braid in a basic 8-cord pattern for 4 inches. Tie the thread in an overhand knot.
STEP 8
Place a small amount of adhesive on the end of the first woven thread knot. Pass the end of a 4-inch length of wire through the end of the woven cord and tightly wind the wire around the woven cord tight to secure the cord in place.
STEP 9
Pass the straight end of the wire through one antiqued gold-plated 21x6mm cone and one gold-plated 2.5mm round bead. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a wrapped loop on the straight end of the wire.

Repeat to attach one antiqued gold-plated 21x6mm cone and one gold-plated 2.5mm round bead to the end of the small woven thread knots.

Starting 2 inches above were the tassels begin, loosely wrap the two wires around the woven cord for approximately 1-1/4 inches. Continue to wrap both wires tightly around the woven cord just above where the tassels begin for three to four wraps.

Separate out one of the wires and continue to loosely wrap it around the first part of the tassels for 1/2 inch ending the wire with a loop spiral.

Using the remaining length on the second end of wire, double over the wire and form a hook on the end of the wire. Pass the wrapped loop on the antiqued gold-plated 40x10mm cone onto the hook. Fold the hook into the woven cord to secure the end of the necklace into place. Cut any excess wire using flush-cutters and tuck the end of the exposed wire under the wrapped wire to hide the end.
