Meet the Designer-Artist

Where do you live?
Ontario, Canada

Describe your artistic style.
Fantasy, whimsical, partly realism. I love beautiful poetic faces with a bit of sadness.

What inspires you as a designer-artist?
I love fairy tales and beauty. Always loved beads and jewels. Now I found a way to incorporate them in my doll designs.

What materials do you most enjoy working with?
Polymer clay and fabrics. I love crystals and pearls.

Share Your Background

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I made my first custom freely-beaded costume a year ago. The vision of a pale face and sparkling jewels came to me and I had to make it.

Who introduced you to beading?
No one. Every bead or stone can have their own story--just listen close and they will tell you.

Do you have an artistic background?
I have developed one since childhood.

How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and BeadsĀ®?
Ad in a magazine and your beautiful website.

What other hobbies do you have?
I love sculpting, painting and jewelry-making.

Beading Success

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
Beading has become an important element of costume for my sculpture pieces. Rarely, do I create a costume with no beads. I wear a lot of jewelry myself.

If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I don't sell my jewelry pieces but I sell a lot of dolls with beaded costumes.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
It is so true that every design, even the simplest one, has a lot of hand work behind it. Never stop working, learning, keep discovering and be inspired!
