Share Your Background

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I began making jewelry many, many years ago, when I was cruising boutiques in the Soho District. The beads I saw were so varied and beautiful that I just had to buy some. I first tried my hand at making macaroni bead necklaces. Through the years, I have expanded the content and style of my work. I am very pleased and excited about the pieces I create.

Who introduced you to beading?
I did.

Do you have an artistic background?
I am a visual artist who has been creating for over forty years as a painter, poet, and jeweler.

How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®?
I discovered Fire Mountain Gems from an ad in Ornament magazine.

What other hobbies do you have?
Playing music, reading and traveling.

Beading Success

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
I can get into making a piece and become lost, contently, in the process. I work on something regularly as one of my careers.

If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I used to sell at street fairs. Now I sell through my website.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Do not give up on your craft.
