Tim Cronkhite has been making jewelry for over 10 years. He co-owned and operated Vegas Beads, Inc. for over 5 years where he hosted and administered workshops on many different mediums and techniques, including: Right-angle weave with Swarovski crystal products, Kato Polyclay™, and most recently Apoxie® Sculpt. Tim's favorite materials to work with include Swarovski crystals, Apoxie Sculpt and Swarovski pearls.
Tim currently works for Fire Mountain Gems and Beads as a product expert and jewelry designer. Tim's specialties focus on creating straightforward clean looks using striking color and product combinations. He also concentrates on designing men's jewelry that is actually wearable. As a relatively small part of the jewelry industry, Tim feels that men's jewelry is important to develop. Another passion of Tim's is creating the Jewelry Making Trends pages of the Fire Mountain Gems and Beads website, which includes a men's jewelry segment. This is where customers can find the up-to-date jewelry trends that incorporate the upcoming industry colors, styles, trends and fads.
He has designed and written many projects and articles which can be found on the Fire Mountain Gems and Beads website and catalogs. Tim is also part of the team of experts answering jewelry-making questions for Ask the Experts, a beading resource found on the Fire Mountain Gems and Beads website.
Tim is a trained chef who often brings his flair and passion for cooking to the jewelry design workshop. He can often be heard comparing things to "the icing on the cake" or "you wouldn't start a good soup with that, would you?" All of these artistic elements make Tim not only fun to work with but awesome in a classroom!
