Share Your Background

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I began in 1990 when I started making beaded earrings from a book and now I just put beads together and it turns out it is what I love about it. I started wire wrapping from Dale "Cougar" Armstrong's DVD's--she has taught me a lot.

Who introduced you to beading?
I guess myself. I just looked at books and was tired of jewelry from the department stores falling apart.

Do you have an artistic background?
No not really, but I am self taught.

How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and BeadsĀ®?
Looking for beads online or in jewelry-making magazines.

What other hobbies do you have?
Mostly making beautiful jewelry!

Do you belong to any beading societies or beading groups?
Yes, I am on several on Facebook.

Beading Success

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
It means a lot to me. It used to be a hobby, but since I can't work I have made this my full-time career.

If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I have a few websites they are on Etsy at http://peggysbeadwork.etsy.com Yardsellr from Facebook http://yardsellr.com/yardsale/Peggy-Marzano-87333. Did a couple of craft fairs but didn't sell that much. I have entered other contests but didn't win anything. I do make a catalog of my jewelry and pass it around to others and my business card.

Do you participate in any charity fundraisers?
Yes, I did for my church as a fundraiser, but didn't sell that much either.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Keep making jewelry. Don't ever give up on yourself.
