Where do you live?
Kanagawa, Japan

Describe your artistic style.
Simple designs is my artistic style, I always try to make jewelry that looks good with various kinds of clothes and make wearer feel comfortable with it on. I also like to use oriental geometrical designs.

What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Round of the season, season's fashions, design and color in jewelry shops and boutiques inspire me.

What materials do you most enjoy working with?
I most enjoy working with music.

What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
National Flag

What inspired this design?
I would like to express one peaceful world connecting national flags as a symbol of each country. I had thought about making national flags around the world for a long time.

How did it come together?
I planned it out.

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I began jewelry-making and beading when I was an elementary school kid. Friends of mine asked me to make a beaded bracelet. That triggered me to start jewelry-making/beading.

Who introduced you to beading?
I just began myself.

Do you have an artistic background?
I was selected as a finalist in the contest by the bead museum in Washington, DC last year, and I used to teach beading and sell the pieces in bead shops for 6 years, part-time.

How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®?
By internet.

What other hobbies do you have?
I enjoy surfing as I live near ocean.

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
Jewelry/beading is my work and my hobby at the same time. It's a part of my life, and makes me feel fulfilled.

If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I would like to attend the market, enter contests, and send out mailings.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Make with happy thought is very important, I suppose.
