Dawn of the Desert Necklace
Measure a small cabochon perimeter and bead a ribbon (Fig. 1) of the same length, using Czech light blue seed beads size 11. Attach the last link of the chain to the first one so that it forms a loop. Bead the back side of the cabochon (Fig. 2). Work circle by circle. Run through all the beads of the last row for several times, pulling the thread tightly.
Now bead the top side of the cabochon (Fig. 3): work one row, then put the cabochon inside and work the second row, pulling the thread tightly.
Embroider the upper cabochons (Fig. 4). Again, work circle by circle.
Bead the "frills" around the next two cabochons (Fig. 5).
Continue beading as shown in Fig. 6 and work the first row on the top side of the cabochon. Work the second and the third rows only along the free half of the cabochon.
Bead a ribbon for the big cabochon (Fig. 1), using Czech striped blue seed beads size 9. Attach the last link of the ribbon to the first one so that it forms a loop. Bead one row from both the top and back sides as shown in Fig. 7. Use blue Czech blue seed beads size 11 for the back side. Use both blue size 11 and white size 10 for the top side as shown in Fig. 7.
Embroider the cabochon from the top side as shown in Fig. 8 and 9.
Bead the neck ribbons (Fig. 10) 7cm long. Having finished, knot the thread but do not cut it. Attach clasps to the ends of both ribbons using this very thread.
Attach the free ends of the ribbons to the upper cabochons. Assemble all the cabochons together with the help of two strings of silver seed beads size 15, transparent beads 3x4mm and transparent blue beads 8mm.
