Embellished Guestbook
by Leslie McLane, Marketing Content Development Group, Exclusively for Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®

The potential designing possibilities for wedding guestbooks is something not to overlook. Personalizing the guestbook makes this another cherished memento from your special day. Use wedding colors in Swarovski crystal (crystals, pearls, pendants, components and rhinestones), feathers, ribbon, seed bead fringe and charms in different finishes representing love, your wedding's theme or bride and groom personal interests. Utilize crystals in sew-on styles, use thread and cord or affix with G-S Hypo fabric cement adhesive. Add dimension with flowers or bows made out of organza, velvet or silk ribbon. Even the pen provided to sign the book is a designing opportunity; attach flat backs and dangling, themed charms or beaded drops.

By converting this project originally used for making a diary, you can quickly create a unique guestbook to be cherished long after guests have signed it--and marveled at your handiwork. Instead of using blank paper, insert lined pages which can be found at craft stores or print out sheets of your own desired fonts, colors, background and layout.

Create traditional pages of cream-colored, lined paper with cursive fonts and simple adornments or make fun and vibrant inserts with multiple colors and pictures. View the section devoted to Embellishments for Scrapbooking, which is a great jumping-off point for developing ideas to make your guestbook something special for both the bride and groom.

Planning weddings can be time-consuming and a bride might think there isn't enough time to create a guestbook from scratch, even with this simple technique. A purchased guestbook can become a one-of-a-kind tribute to the cherished day as well. Embellish a premade guestbook in much the same way; there are no limitations. Whichever method you choose, let your creativity shine and guests will sign their love and congratulations in designer style.
