Our style squad tracked down the hottest fashion accessories from New York Fashion Week to bring you this season's hottest trends.
The overall mood for spring & summer 2006 is fresh, clean lines with unique statement accessories. There is a general move away from extravagant accessories with a cleaner line emerging as the new shape. The bohemian look will not disappear altogether and accessories are to remain a key element of spring and summer trends.
Fashion colors this season are more subdued and natural, and for many designers, that meant a change in their palettes to desert tones, white or black. Bright colors are still popular, especially when accentuated by bright shots of color.
We are seeing natural, organic materials, neutrals, nudes, tans, browns, creams. All shades of blue ranging from icy blue to peacock blues and teals will remain popular for the summer season. We are also seeing pretty pastels in lime, yellow, purple and light blue. White will be a popular color, especially when paired with black or splashes of color.

Beach Inspired
The influence of the beach will wash over accessories this season. Natural, organic materials inspired by the sand and sea as well as neutrals such as nudes, tans, browns, pinks, creams melons, and greens will add softness and an ultra-chic take on femininity. |

Designers are moving away from extravagant accessories toward cleaner lines and geometric shapes. Clean and crisp white will be a popular color accented by bright splashes of colors like hot pink, coral, mustard, and grassy greens. Black continues to be popular when paired with white and bright contrasts. |
