Dessislava Vaughan's Guardians of the Forest enchanted the judges. It tells the story of a seed bead owl with cabochon eyes perched under a canopy of forest vegetation skillfully stitched with seed beads, green palette pearls and embellishments.
Chris was quite taken with Dessie's design, exclaiming, ''A totally unbelievable statement piece--exquisite beyond belief.''
Gianna Zimmerman's bib-style necklace Archangels of the Throne awed the judges with its intricate seed bead design of archangel wings and patterns within patterns as well as the artist-designer's superb technique.
Chris was totally captivated: ''This is spectacularly flamboyant and beautiful.''
A feast of florals, Bouquet by Tatjana Andre impressed judges with its execution of design and the elaborately interwoven seed bead techniques used by the artist-designer.
Chris appreciated the great amount of work that went into Tatjana's creation: ''Gorgeous--with lots of different kinds of beads, it pops. Glorious.''
The judges got pretty revved up over Deborah Glasser's Heavy Metal necklace with its intriguing placement of cogs, bolts, bullets and screws. Each metal part is surrounded by concentric rows of seed beads. Extra metal interest is provided by a valve stem cover and a 9mm bullet casing serving as a tassel top.

The President's Award is given to the wall hanging Northern Lights by Bernita BarBorka with inspiration from artist Roger W. Reinardy. Bernita took his cross stitch design and converted it to seed beads using over 30,000 Delicas.
